Hanson Drive Repair Asphalt is a 6mm grade ready to use cold lay asphalt for instant, temporary repairs to domestic driveways and paths. Hanson Drive Repair Asphalt is produced using carefully selected raw materials and strict quality control throughout each stage of the manufacturing process to ensure a consistent final product is achieved. Easy to lay – just open the bag, pour into a pothole and tamp down.

Uses

Hanson Drive Repair Asphalt is suitable for a number of domestic applications including repairing driveways and footpaths and filling potholes.

Preparation

  • Ensure the area to be repaired is dry and edges are solid/sound and not friable.
  • Sweep the area and remove all debris including weeds and roots.
  • NOTE: When overlaying very smooth surfaces such as concrete, the use of a spray-on bitumen tack coat is recommended to extend the life of the repair.

Application

  • Use a rake or spade to spread the Drive Repair Asphalt to the required thickness, remembering to be slightly proud of the hole to allow for compaction.
  • Use a flat heavy object for ‘tamping’ such as a tamper or mechanical plate compactor.
  • Wet the tamper frequently to stop the Drive Repair Asphalt sticking to the tool and ‘picking up’
  • NOTE: When repairing deep potholes (greater than 30mm) lay the Drive Repair Asphalt in two stages. Ensuring the first layer is fully compacted before spreading the next layer and compacting to the required finished surface level.

Finishing

In warm weather it can be beneficial to lightly dust a little dry sand over the surface after compaction to help reduce ‘picking up’ of the fresh material as it sets.

Coverage

The coverage rate of Hanson Drive Repair Asphalt is approximately 0.4m2 per bag, when compacted to a depth of 30mm.

Conditions of Use

  • Not suitable for heavily trafficked areas, or areas exposed to high stress such as turning.
  • Protect the newly laid surface from caravan legs, motorbike kickstands and other similar high loadings.
  • Do not place heavy and sharp objects on the newly laid surface.
  • Protect the newly laid surface from vehicle tyres and power steering action.
  • Timber sheets can spread loading of vehicle tyres but will also reduce oxidation which is required for the product to harden. Therefore do not leave permanently covered as this will extend the time taken to fully harden.
  • Drive Repair Asphalt should be placed within the temperature range of 5°C to 30°C.
  • The workability of the Drive Repair Asphalt will improve if the outside temperature is above 10'C.
  • The material may be prone to marking and deformation during early life and warm conditions.
  • The time taken to fully harden will depend on the degree of compaction and ambient conditions.
  • Surface finish can be improved by further tamping.
  • After prolonged storage or in cold conditions, it may be necessary to expose the bag of the Drive Repair Asphalt to direct sunlight for 1-2 hours prior to opening to loosen the material and restore workability.

As a full builders and plumbers merchant, we stock a huge range of products varying in size from minute to massive. In order to supply our products at such competitive prices and not overcharge where unnecessary, we have developed a shipping structure based on the size, weight and transportability of each product which will always offer the most cost-effective shipping method.

All delivery charges are included and clearly displayed in the shopping cart/basket page (when using the shipping estimator) and also on the checkout page, both before and during payment. All delivery charges are based on delivery to Mainland UK (excluding the Scottish Highlands).

We pride ourselves on quick and complete delivery services, and we make every effort to ensure deliveries are always on time and exceed expectation. On some occasions there may be delays with manufacturers or other factors which may be out of our control, and we will always endeavour to minimise any delays. It is important not to have tradesmen booked in or jobs ongoing that are reliant on the supply of the materials. Any deliveries that are outside the timescales stated on the product page will be notified to you via email or phone, and you will be kept in the picture at all times.

Delivery Methods

Where possible deliveries are carried out on our own transport (within our delivery zones) and if the items are classed as 'big and bulky' (over 1m in dimension, or over 10kg in weight) the delivery cost will be based on cart total and delivery address distance. Using our own fleet within our delivery zone means we can offer same-day and next-day delivery services as standard as well as adhere to notes and restrictions as best we can.

When items are not 'big and bulky' (such as under 1m in dimension, or under 10kg in weight) and are outside our delivery zone, we will send these via a courier network on a standard next working day delivery service. This is a free of charge service for orders over £150 plus VAT.

All delivery methods are carried out between Monday and Friday only and weekend deliveries are not an option. Where stated 'next day' this means Nationwide Supplies next working day which is subject to change. Delivery Costs

To get the most accurate delivery cost, please add all of your items to the shopping cart, visit the cart page and enter your desired delivery post code. This will calculate the exact prices for delivery of your shopping cart and will always offer you the best delivery options available to you.

Multiple Deliveries

Depending on the mix of goods on our order, the delivery may arrive from different companies at different times. This is always kept to a minimum where possible and you will be notified of the consignments.

Delivery Acceptance

Please ensure you will be on site to receive your deliveries. All deliveries require a signature and also clarification on the condition of the goods. Please do not sign for goods received in 'good condition' if they have visible signs of damage or have been unchecked. If any part of the delivery is damaged, please notify us immediately on 01763 281111 or email us at sales@nsupplies.co.uk. As soon as delivery has been taken and signed for any damages are your responsibility and we may not be able to argue the case against the haulage or courier company.

Delivery Access

Our delivery service is a kerbside offering to minimise risk to both our vehicles and your property. If at any time you request our vehicles and drivers to deliver in a different location and wish them to enter your property, and/or surrounding property, this is at your own risk and damages would be at your own fault. If the vehicles become damaged because of this, we may ask you to cover costs of repair.

Big and Bulky

These are products that couriers generally don't accept due to either their weight or dimensions (usually over 1m in any dimension or over 10kg in weight). These include (but are not limited to) aggregate, timber, lintels, twinwall pipe, fencing, cement, sheet materials, bricks, blocks and more. Where items may be able to be hauled on a pallet, we can arrange this on a POA basis.
