In order to wash your clothes, your washing machine needs to be connected to the water supply. Inlet hoses connect your washing machine to the water taps or valves, allowing fresh water to flow directly to the machine, so the tub fills up and with a bit of laundry detergent, leaves your clothes nice and clean. After you’ve completed your laundry, the wastewater from the cycle will need to be directed away from the washing machine to a drainage system. A washing machine drain hose (also known as an outlet hose) connects the machine to a standpipe, drain or tub so your machine is ready for use again.
